Recipes - using CBW® Pilsen Light

This is the lightest colored, pure malt extract you can buy! We make it from our Pilsen Malt and a little Carapils® Malt for increased foam production and stability, and enhanced mouth. The wort this malt extract produces is exceptionally crisp and clean. It's the malt extract to use if you're brewing a lager. Of course it works equally awesome in ales!

Abbey On My Way Ale—(5 U.S. Gallons) (Extract & Grain)
Rich toffee, nut and raisin notes are contributed by the combination of the specialty malts.

Alpinator (Doppelbock)—(5 U.S. Gallons) (Extract & Grain)
A rich maltiness will dominate your palette when you taste this doppelbock.  The recipe is balanced by an unmistakable alcohol presence achieved with a Zurich Lager Yeast.

Alt of My Mind Ale—(5 U.S. Gallons) (Extract & Grain)
This classic style Altbier is cold conditioned to reduce overall fruity esters. Slightly sweet with warm, rich malt tones, it finishes crisp and dry.

Brew-It-Again American Brown Ale—(5 U.S. Gallons) (Extract & Grain)
Delicious, easy to brew, and made with a top-cropping yeast suited for harvesting (and re-use) you can brew it again with the same yeast.

Chocolate Porter—(5 U.S. Gallons) (Extract & Grain)
You’ll want to savor every sip of this rich, chocolately porter. Its deep, intense flavor is achieved by the extreme combination of specialty malts, steeped for a longer period of time, plus unsweetened cocoa. We recommend using the highest quality cocoa you can get your hands on!

East Coast Cream—(5 U.S. Gallons) (All Grain)
Special mashing and wort collection procedures produce this exceptionally light colored, clean flavored and super dry lager.

Final Course (Sweet Stout)—(5 U.S. Gallons) (Extract & Grain)
With dessert or as dessert, beside ice cream or on ice cream. This sweet stout is a delicious end to any dinning  experience.

Goofy Juice Belgian Ale—(5 U.S. Gallons) (Extract & Grain)
This light colored, fruity ale is deceptively easy drinking. Its complex character ages very well up to eight months and pairs nicely with many foods.

Hop Bomb Imperial IPA—(5 U.S. Gallons) (Extract and Grain)
Quaffable after a big day of shooting the curl, this insanely hoppy, big beer is quite crisp and refreshing due to its higher attenuation and incredible floral character.

Kiss Me Anytime Pilsner—(5 U.S. Gallons) (Extract & Grain)
This smooth all malt European-style lager is good anytime of the year.  An easy drinking beer from a recipe made with the idea of “Keeping It Simple”.

Light in the Dark Lager—(5 U.S. Gallons) (Extract and Grain)
This smooth, dark colored lager can lead drinkers of light colored beers over to the dark side.  With your eyes closed this Schwartz beer is as smooth as a European pilsner.

Maltinator Dopplebock—(5 U.S. Gallons) (Extract and Grain)
This uber malty Dopplebock is based on the Oktoberfest beer style.  Rich, warm, malty and toasty.  Perfect for cool weather.  Enjoy some in the spring and again in Oktober!

March-In Marzen—(5 U.S. Gallons) (Extract and Grain)
This Marzen or Oktoberfest style beer has a malt character that will make you want to get up and march!  Traditionally brewed in March and served in late September, this beer will be ready to drink in a month and a half and good any time of the year.

Munich Madness Bock—(5 U.S. Gallons) (Extract & Grain)
Steeping caramel and chocolate malts adds just the right touch of deep flavor to this rich and malty traditional German lager.

Oktoberfestival Beer—(5 U.S. Gallons) (Extract)
This malty lager is worth celebrating year ‘round. Pair it with a platter of fresh, creamy cheese and enjoy!

Santa's Little Helper Winter Lager—(5 U.S. Gallons) (Extract & Grain)
Sure to fuel the late night gift wrapping session or ease the pain from the sledding accidents, this lightly spiced amber lager ages very well up to 6 months.

Summer Saison—(5 U.S. Gallons) (Extract & Grain)
This fruity, complex ale is surprisingly light and dangerously easy drinking. Brewed in the summer, it will be good with changing complexity until well after Christmas.
