Recipes - using Chocolate Malt
A dark roasted specialty malt with a color of 350° Lovibond, Chocolate Malt imparts a rich roasted coffee/cocoa flavor to Porters, Stouts and other dark, full flavored beers. Use in small quantities for color adjustment in other beer styles, too.
Black Lager (Schwarbier)—(5 U.S. Gallons)(Grain)
Clear lager yeast character and subtle coffee flavor are the distinguishing characteristics of this dark, yet surprisingly light flavored beer. A refreshing alternative to stouts and porters on a blustery winter's day.
Chocolate Porter—(5 U.S. Gallons) (Extract & Grain)
You’ll want to savor every sip of this rich, chocolately porter. Its deep, intense flavor is achieved by the extreme combination of specialty malts, steeped for a longer period of time, plus unsweetened cocoa. We recommend using the highest quality cocoa you can get your hands on!
Dark Chocolate Porter—(5 U.S. Gallons) (Extract & Grain)
This Porter uses Dark Chocolate Malt in place of Black Malt to achieve triple chocolate delight!
Dunkle Weizen—(5 U.S. Gallons) (Extract & Grain)
Phenolic esters, sweet malted wheat notes and background flavors of chocolate make this full flavored Weiss beer a great complement for your favorite German meal. Ein Prosit!
Dusseldorf Alt—(5 U.S. Gallons) Grain)
Fermenting at cool ale temperatures develops the clean and smooth, yet rich malty character of this German-style beer.
Multi Grain Porter—(5 U.S. Gallons) (Extract & Grain)
Malted Wheat lends a richness and Malted Rye lends a dryness that complement the Chocolate Malt in this California-style brew.
Final Course (Sweet Stout)—(5 U.S. Gallons) (Extract & Grain)
With dessert or as dessert, beside ice cream or on ice cream. This sweet stout is a delicious end to any dinning experience.
