The American Distilling Institute annual conference is coming to Seattle next week!  Myself and my east coast Briess compatriot Rich Ellis will be in attendance so if you’re there please stop by our table to say hello.  The agenda looks delightful and there are a number of hands-on classes, presentations as well as tours of some of the local distilleries.  I visited with head distiller/owner Jason Parker at Copperworks Distilling a few weeks back and they have a beautiful facility down on the waterfront (I’m a nerd for lots of shiny copper).  They currently have a house made vodka (shockingly good) made with Washington grown barley as well as a new gin that will knock your socks off with the botanicals.  Copperworks is also stuffing barrels (see above pic) with their own whiskey.  Of other note just south of downtown is Westland Distilling and head distiller Matt Hoffman is one of the ADI speakers.  You can see some pics from my previous post here and I would highly recommend touring their facility!
