Belgian Golden Ale yeast flavors dominate this brew with fruity and phenolic characteristics while Saaz hops add a spicy finish, dextrose thins the body to make this an easy drinking strong ale.

Ingredients

7.5 lbs CBW® Pilsen Light DME 60 min boil
1 lb Dextrose 5 min boil
1.5 oz Tettnang hops (4.5% AAU) 60 min boil
0.5 oz Saaz hops (5.0% AAU) 15 min boil
0.5 oz Saaz hops (5.0% AAU) 5 min boil
2 packs WLP570 Belgian Golden Ale Yeast Fermenter

Procedures

  1. Dissolve extract in warm water, add Tettnang hops, then bring to boil
  2. Boil for 45 minutes
  3. Add 0.5 oz Saaz hops
  4. Boil for 10 minutes
  5. Turn off heat, dissolve Dextrosse, add 0.5 oz Saaz hops, then bring to boil
  6. Boil 5 minutes
  7. Turn off heat and cool to 70°F
  8. Transfer to fermenter
  9. Pitch two packs of WLP570 Belgian Golden Ale Yeast

Primary Fermentation: 2 weeks at 70-73°F

Secondary Fermentation: 4 weeks at 32-40°F

Fermentation Notes: Force carbonate, or bottle condition with dissolving priming sugar and 1/4 packet or WLP570 Belgian Golden Ale Yeast for 2-3 weeks

Original Gravity: 1.073

Final Gravity: 1.013
