This all-malt pilsner is brewed with Belgian Lager Yeast and contains an abundance of hops in true pilsner style.

0.5 lb Carapils® Malt Dextrine
1.5 oz Tettnanger (4.0% AA hop) 60 minute boil
0.5 oz Tettnanger (4.0% AA hop) 30 minute boil
0.5 oz Saaz (4.5% AA hop) 30 minute boil
0.5 oz Tettnanger (4.0% AA hop) 15 minute boil
0.5 oz Saaz (4.5% AA hop) 15 minute boil
2 oz Saaz (4.5% AA hop) 0 minute boil
1 vial WLP815 Belgian Lager Yeast
1 capsule Servomyces Yeast Nutrient 10 minute boil

Procedures

  1. Mash grains at 148-152ºF for 45 minutes
  2. Heat to 170ºF
  3. Lauter
  4. Boil with bittering hops for 60 minutes
  5. Add second hop addition, boil 15 minutes
  6. Add third hop addition, boil 15 minutes
  7. Add final hop addition at kettle knock out
  8. Cool to 66ºF, oxygenate wort
  9. Pitch 1 vial WLP815 Blegian Lager Yeast
  10. At first sign of fermentation cool to 52ºF

Primary Fermentation: 2-4 weeks at 52ºF

Secondary Fermentation: 4-6 weeks at 33-40ºF

Fermentation Notes: Initial: 2-10 hours at 66ºF Diacetyl Rest: 2 days at 65ºF Bottle: add 1/4 vial of WLP815 Belgian Lager Yeast

Original Gravity: 1.051

Final Gravity: 1.012
