Hoppy American Pale Ale with an amber hue and deep, rich maltiness.

Ingredients

9.0 lbs - Pale Ale Malt - Mash Grain
1.5 lb - American Honey Malt - Mash Grain
0.5, 0.25, 0.5 oz - Galena, Simcoe, Amarillo Hops (12, 12, 10% AAU) - 20 minute boil
0.5, 0.25, 0.5 oz - Galena, Simcoe, Amarillo Hops (12, 12, 10% AAU) - 2 minute boil
0.5, 0.25, 0.5 oz - Galena, Simcoe, Amarillo Hops (12, 12, 10% AAU) - Fermenter
1 pack - WLP001 California Ale Yeast (plus 1/4 pack for bottle conditioning) - Fermenter

Directions

Mash crushed grains in 4 gallons of water at 153-155°F for 60 minutes
Sparge grain with 170°F water to obtain desired pre-boil kettle volume
Boil 40 minutes
Add 0.5 oz Galena, 0.25 oz Simcoe, and 0.5 oz Amarillo hops
Boil 19 minutes
Add 0.5 oz Galena, 0.25 oz Simcoe, and 0.5 oz Amarillo hops
Boil for 1 minute
Turn heat off and cool wort to 68°F
Transfer to fermenter
Pitch one pack of WLP001 California Ale Yeast
