    This smooth all malt European-style lager is good anytime of the year. An easy drinking beer from a recipe made with the idea of "Keeping It Simple".

    Ingredients

    5 lbs CBW® Pilsen Light DME Substitute 6.6 lbs LME Extract, DME
    4 oz Carapils® Malt Dextrine
    1 tsp Irish Moss Boil 15 minutes
    0.5 oz Hallertau Hops (6.5% AA) Boil 45 minutes
    0.5 oz Saaz Hops (4% AA) Boil 15 minutes
    0.25 oz Hallertau Hops (6.5% AA) Boil 1 minute
    0.25 oz Saaz Hops (4% AA) Boil 1 minute
    1 vial WLP830 German Lager Yeast Primary fermentation

    Procedures

    1. Steep malts in 4 gallons of water at 150-180ºF for 15-20 minutes
    2. Remove grains from the water and sparge
    3. Bring water to a boil
    4. Add extract
    5. Stir vigorously to dissolve
    6. Bring to a boil
    7. Add bittering hops and bring to a rollling boil
    8. Add remaining hops and Irish Moss as indicated
    9. Remove from heat
    10. Cool to 55-60ºF
    11. Transfer to primary fermenter
    12. Fill to desired level with cold water
    13. Oxygenate and pitch yeast

    Primary Fermentation: 14 days at 55ºF

    Secondary Fermentation: 14 days at 35ºF

    Fermentation Notes: Bottle condition or force carbonate

    Original Gravity: 1.048

    Final Gravity: 1.012

    Alcohol by Weight: 3.7%

    Alcohol by Volume: 4.8%

    IBU: 30

    Color: 3-5 SRM
