Thank goodness for 50-pound bags of specialty malt that Briess introduced to the young American Craft Brewing movement decades ago. It helped spur the growth of the industry and set an industry standard. Today 50-pound bags remains the specialty malt packaging option of choice for many of thee 1,400+ microbreweries in North America because of the flexibility, creativity and affordability it offers.

Since that first 50-pound bag rolled off our production line, Briess has continued to respond to the changing needs of microbreweries as they grew. Today larger quantities of malt can be purchased in Mini Bulk (Super Sacs) and Bulk to help lower malt costs, decrease labor, streamline operations and eliminate the need to recycle or dispose of large quantities of packaging.

50-Pound Paper Bags

Contents: Preground Malt, Whole Kernel Malt, Torrified Wheat, Black Malted Barley Flour   Multi-wall paper bags 50-pounds net (22 kg) 40 bags per pallet / 8 layers of 5 bags Non-returnable, four-way wooden pallet Standard 40" x 48" pallet (100 cm x 120 cm) Stacked pallet height from 60" to 72" (150 cm to 180 cm) Pallet weight is 2,000 pounds net (907 kg) Pallet weight is 2,075 pounds gross (941 kg) Pallet is shrink wrapped prior to shipping Double stacking of pallets is not recommended Return to Top

2,000-Pound Mini-Bulk (Super Sacs)

Contents: Whole Kernel Malt, Preground Malt, Torrified Wheat   2,000 pounds +/- 250 pounds gross weight which includes the 13-pound Super Sac and 55-pound pallet 39" x 45" x 62" tall Baffled Super Sac (poly-wove, coated material) Non-returnable, 100% recyclable 8" - 10" straps on each corner for handling with fork lift 14" spout on the bottom for easy dispensing Custom weights available upon request.
