I spent this past Friday brewing a 15BBL batch of pale ale with Big Al Brewing here in Seattle.  Alejandro Brown, owner/brewer, got his start in professional brewing when he was bitten (like most of us) by the homebrew bug.  Al and his wife purchased the 15BBL production brewery in 2008 and have been brewing like crazy since; they just celebrated their 2 year anniversary in August.

Big Al Brewing turns 2!

The pale ale we brewed will be 5% abv with 40 ibu’s and a LOT of WA hops loaded into the back end.  This will be a benefit beer with 100% of the proceeds going to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and will be tapped for Turkey Bowl 2010.  The Turkey Bowl benefit is in it’s 12th year of head-to-head competition of brewing “teams” bowling against one another and will be held in West Seattle November 20th.  Big fun!!!
