In these uncertain times, places that are rich in culture and energy can be a staple for keeping spirits high and picking up excellent craft beer and food! Such is the case with Raíces Brewing in Denver. They opened in the Fall of 2019 and are strategically located across the street from the Broncos’ Empower Field at Mile High.

Raíces means “roots” en Español. Co-Founders Martin Vargas (head brewer and VP of Brewery Operations), Jose D. Betea (CEO), and Tamil Maldonado (VP of Development), stay true to that meaning, which comes from crafting community through cultural roots — and for the second year in a row, they have been recipients of the BA Diversity and Inclusion Grant. The atmosphere is all about Community, Culture, and Cerveza, rich with Latin American colors, sounds, and energy — with elements from Costa Rica and Puerto Rico. With a beautiful view of the river out back, Raíces is sure to become a must-see destination when in Denver…once it is safe again to gather. In the meantime, they are currently open for curbside pickup and delivery Wednesday – Sunday. Check out their website for details. Salud!

Masks in the mural include diversity that conforms with the identify of Latin cultures. Elements from North, Central, and South America, as well as the Caribbean can be seen.
