The long-awaited new Briess Caramel Rye Malt (60L) is now available! It’s everything we wanted it to be…and then some.

Our maltsters developed this drum-roasted specialty malt to have just the right amount of smooth and subtle, yet surprisingly complex flavors. Like other Briess caramel malts, our roaster operators carefully drum roast Caramel Rye Malt in small batches from germinated, wet grain until the starchy center is crystallized. This process compliments the spiciness of the rye by developing the sweet and roasted flavors of a caramel malt. The array of subtle but complex bready, earthy and rye notes will add character to your next whiskey.
